The Power of the Square"The Universe is a Series of Infinite Squares" - Saul, Buddha's Brother.Saul said this. Or we THINK he said this. After all, Saul's teachings were all destroyed in a jealous rage by his brother, who went on to his own "fame" that we all know too well. But Saul's words would not die. Whispered in secret for centuries, we can now safely and decisively reconstruct his teachings for a new era much more receptive to his ideas.The basic foundation of his teachings was a belief in The Square. And it's not hard to see why. A square is quite literally the perfect building block for all things.Go ahead, try and make a pyramid with a bunch of spheres. Can't be done, they'll just all roll away in different directions, causing chaos. But a square. Now THAT's a solid foundation.Every square, big or small, has four sides. These coincide with the Four Seasons (spring summer winter fall) the Four Directions (north west east south) the Four Tastes (sweet sour bitter salt) and the Four Emotions (happy sad angry scared)The square can also protect. The story of the Three Little Pigs was also ripped off from Saul (but that's ANOTHER story) - needless to say, the house with the SQUARES withstood the wolf's blows. Followers of Saul and Shabalababallah - the name of the movement dedicated to his beliefs - often place a green square in the center of their forehead to show their Awareness.The next time you are out in the world, in a remote hilltop village or on the world's busiest street, take a closer look. Suddenly you will see squares EVERYWHERE. And you will realize Saul was right. (Again!)

ABOUT Steve Moramarco, a single, unemployed 40-something actor-musician, thinks he has finally been discovered by a documentary film crew after years of languishing in obscurity. A few minutes into the film, we discover that it is his parents who are behind this, in an attempt to collect evidence for a Life Intervention.We follow Steve, his parents, his best friend and his former girlfriends as they all lurch towards the day that will forever after be known as The Great Intervention.Actor/Writer/Director Stephen Moramarco raised $5000 on Kickstarter for the project and immediately began filming. The picture was on time and on budget.There was no script, just a detailed outline. Actors improvised within a structured scenario. Most of the scenes in the film were done in one take.In addition to the film, he has created a Meme - an interactive web experience that surrounds and connects the characters of the film. In2vention's BlogThe Most Incredible Day of My Life!!Jul. 18th, 2010 at 9:16 PM OMG - you are NOT going to believe what happened to me today!!! I was just walking down the street - why? Well, that's ANOTHER story that I won't bore you with (TONY!!!!!) Anyway, where was I????? Oh, yes, walking down the street and I see this crowd of people all gathered around like it's some kind of party. But they were all kind of frowning. Then I saw this woman had a bullhorn in her hand and she seemed to be running around like a chicken with its head cut off. All of a sudden she turns to me and says "Are you here for the intervention?"I almost fainted right then and there. That's when I noticed the camera crew and all the people milling about, holding a pen and paper in their hand. OH MY GOD - AN ACTUAL INTERVENTION IS OCCURRING ON MY BLOCK!!But I didn't scream or shout or giggle - THANK GOD! No, yours truly kept it TOGETHER and merely said "Oh, ok!" AND THEY USHERED ME IN!!I cannot BELIEVE my good fortune! I never thought in a MILLION YEARS I would be invited to an actual intervention (everyone I know is pretty together, actually). They handed me a pen and paper and told me to write something about Steve - good! They said his NAME! Steve! Well, I didn't know what to write of course, so I started peeking at what everyone else was writing and tried to overhear what they were saying about this Steve guy. Well - it turns out he's some kind of musician - although from what everybody was saying, he wasn't very good! People kept using the word "loser" "fool" "pathetic" "grow up" - WOW, I thought - this is going to be REALLY GOOD!I pretended to write some things, but my hands were shaking I was so nervous! Then, all of a sudden the lady (it turns out it's Steve's mom) says "Ok, we go in!"Apparently, they sent Steve on a fake audition (that's another thing people said - he was an actor - again, not very good!) and he's going to come in through the back door and we were all going to wait for him in the living room. Cool!!!!She opened the door and the stench hit us immediately. B.O., rotten food, and I SWEAR I smelled burnt oregano. And the place was TINY. For a loser, this guy sure had a LOT of people to cram into this tiny living room. I held my breath and went in.I have to say the parents were very nice. They thanked us for taking the time to come here and they seemed genuinely concerned about their son. Awwwww. There were three or four camera people (some guy who said his name was Josh was in charge, and he said they were hired by Steve's parents to film this as a way for them to seek help for their son. Plus, it seemed like everybody there had some kind of camera or recording device - nobody wanted to miss any of the intervention action!Then there was the sound of a car going into the driveway and Sheila (that's Steve's mom's name - nice name!) said, "Ok he's here - everybody get ready!!"We all held our breath as Steve entered the living room... I'm not going to SAY what happened - you'll have to look at the pics YOURSELF!!Well, needless to say, there is an immediate commotion. Steve looks like a deer (well a bald, fat deer) in the headlights. He turns and runs FULL SPEED out the door!"Oh my God, he's headed for the Segway! Everybody out!" Sheila exclaimed.Well, all I have to say is I'm glad I was wearing my tennis shoes (TONY!!!!!!) because the next thing I knew, we're all running down the street shouting "Steve, Steve come back!!!!" This went on for a little while, until the battery on his Segway thing (didn't the guy that invented it just die?) ran out, and the LHPD were able to apprehend him. So, about 25 minutes later, Steve is back in his living room, (wrapped in a bathrobe, thank God!) and he says. "Ok, what's up?"The first one to speak was Sheila. Wow - she really took control of the situation! My guess is that if Steve had some of her gusto, he wouldn't be needing an intervention (but he obviously doesn't, so he does). She kept going on and on about how something happened to him when he was Twelve years old and he was never the same. Whoa - I wonder what that was??? Steve didn't offer any answers.Next, Steve's father Fred took the floor. "You're Forty-Three years old! Do you know what it means to be the first born son in an Italian family?" he shouted. I practically peed my pants with excitement.Then it was everyone else's turn. They had this little puppet I recognized from some American TV show, but I couldn't remember what it was - anyway, who ever was holding the puppet would have the floor and be able to speak their mind.Wow. There were so many different people who came up and told him what a pathetic loser he was! It was sooooooo cooooool!!!!!! There was this guy who I guess books bands who told him "It's my job to know good music from bad music" and proceeded to tell him - in a not-so-gentle fashion, that his music sucked. That seemed to be the overriding message. This guy seemed to be deluded about his own creative abilities. A childhood friend stepped up next and asked "What happened? You seem to be languishing at a level just above can collecting!" At this point the intervention was just like a gushing wound, with everybody clamoring to get the puppet and give their two cents. One guy stepped up and told how Steve RUINED HIS WEDDING! (I will NOT reprint what happened, I'm STILL shuddering about it!) Then this other guy stepped up who said he was a doctor (he looked a little young, IMOHO) and he said he had been selling Steve oregano for over 5 years. Oh, so THAT's what that smell was - but I just don't GET why Steve was burning it!And then all of a sudden I looked down -- OMG, the puppet was in MY hands!!! I didn't know what to do! I didn't ask for the puppet, yet somehow it was passed to me! I didn't want to appear rude, so I stepped up. I opened my mouth and blurted:"Steve, I don't know you. I was just walking by. I've been listening to everyone. I just really LOVE interventions! I have to agree with everyone it sounds like you're not really good at whatever it is that you do, and you should just listen to the people that love you and best of luck with that!"My heart was beating about a million miles a minute and I'm sure I was sweating and blinking profusely. BUT I DID IT!!!! I PARTICIPATED IN AN INTERVENTION!!! IT WAS MY DREAM COME TRUE!!!!I AM TRULY WALKING ON AIR FOR THE NEXT MONTH AT LEAST!!!!!Well, some more people talked after me, but to be honest I can't remember much after that - my head was SPINNING! vince Vincent Duvall (Lt. Duvall) Originally from Northern California, Vincent spent most of his early days landing in a new town or city or travelling in between. He was avid in youth sports and even shagged balls with MC Hammer when his uncle Pat Bourque played for the Oakland A's in the seventies. He studied business (and language) at UC Berkeley and film and theatre at UCLA. He played baseball, soccer and worked out with the UC TaeKwon Do team and their Olympic champions. He has been to the "roof of the world" in Tibet and the "end of the world" in Norway. It's the in between part that he is still working on. He lives in the Hollywood Hills right under the "Y" and continues to work in TV and film and grow his own company.

johnny Johnny "Angel" Wendell (Johnny Angel) For 25 years, this maniac has terrorized rock and roll clubs and the print media as "Johnny Angel", now, under his new radio monicker, he will take his guerilla/assaultive style to new heights--taking a crowbar to the closeminded, unscrubbing the brainwashed and enlightening those who dwell in the darkness. johanna Johanna Parker (Jo) is an actress/model and generally a decent human being. She was born and raised in Upstate New York then went to school at Syracuse University where she received a BFA in Acting. She studied and performed at UCB theater in both NY and LA and in both improv and sketch and currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband, Eric Appel and Daisy (her adorable dog).

catherine Catherine Carlen (Dr. Amber Thorne, LCSW) has been an actor for 35 years. She is a Lifetime member of THE ACTORS STUDIO and has worked in many off-Broadway productions and has starred in numerous TV shows and film.Catherine studied acting with the great masters of the Theater: Uta Hagen, Lee Strasberg, Stella Adler, Sanford Meisner, and Susan Batson. She began a career as an acting teacher and coach when she received requests from stars that needed coaching in Los Angeles, including such well known actors as: Demi Moore, Nancy Allen, Lesley Ann Warren, Lela Rochon and John Diehl. In 2005 Catherine became the Drama Acting Coach on the TV show for the WB called THE STARLET with Faye Dunaway.Catherine was working with Mark Rydell at THE ACTORS STUDIO in LA and began the next love of her life ... Directing. Mark Rydell and Mark Travis started an invitation only "Directors Workshop". Under the guidance and inspiration of her mentors Catherine next challenge was to find a project to direct. She has appeared in many indie feature films, most recently Bricktown; countless shorts; and television shows ranging from episodics to soaps to late-night comedy spots. She works extensively in commercials and the theater. Her voiceover work encompasses commercials, narrations and videogames. Karen is a singer in both liturgical and secular/mainstream fields.

Karen Z KAREN ZUMSTEG (Ellen Day) - A Delaware native, Karen really enjoys provoking fun and thought in audiences, whether real or imagined. Fred Federico Moramarco (Fred Moramarco) is the Founding Editor of Poetry International, an annual journal published at San Diego State University where he taught creative writing, poetry, and American Literature for many years. He is the co-author (with son Stephen) of 'Italian Pride: 101 Reasons to be Proud You're Italian,' 'Containing Multitudes: Poetry in the US Since 1950,' 'Modern American Poetry,' and co-editor of 'Men of Our Time: Male Poetry in Contemporary America.' He has acted with The Old Globe Theater in San Diego and The San Diego Rep. This is his feature film debut.
